GynoChiro™ is a new service provided by Brahmavidya Chiropractic for women. Gynecology for chiropractic is an alternative form of health care that honors and supports our pelvic floor.

The neurology embedded within the pelvis influences our reproductive system, digestive, immune, lymphatic, hormone balance, posture, biology, and overall well-being. This services is for those with symptoms of: leakage, prolapse, infertility, post-natal care, pain with intercourse, chronic or recurring pain within the low back and pelvis, hormone imbalance, irregular menstrual cycle, symptoms associated with the menstrual cycle that interrupt your daily living, migraines, constipation, and more to state that are being addressed now with this service provided.

What makes GynoChiro™ different?

With a chiropractic background, as a chiropractor we are focused on your neurology, how the nervous system is operating. This gives insight to whether we are operating more in the sympathetic of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. Or, the parasympathetic of rest, digest, stay, and play. We are in need of balance, but with our individual past, the current, and how our mind portrays the future we more so are within a constant sympathetic. When in the sympathetic state, our fascia, the connective tissue becomes restricted. It limits the range of motion in the body, circulation, oxygen delivery, signals from the body to the brain and vice versa, decreases hydration, the feeling of safety in your body, and many other thoughts and feelings are created from fascia not feeling safe and fully expressive. Fascia holds the most sensory receptors in the body and is the fastest to relay information to our brain and send signals back to the body. This service is different in that fascia, not muscles are our main focus. Fascia directly influences the nervous system in the form of operation and the muscle engagement a byproduct of beneficial effects.

What does a session within GynoChiro™ look like?

First session will hold a discussion on your health history followed with a visual demonstration on a pelvis model of our anatomy and the functions of our pelvis floor in means of musculature and fascia. When we contract muscles, the fascia is to move and glide with but if the fascia has been in a state of the sympathetic nervous system for too long the moving and gliding isn’t so synchronized. One side of our pelvic floor may pull up more so than the other, we may not have any engagement due to a loss of mind to muscle connection, and sometimes the fascia is so restricted that the musculature is at a point of holding the maximum amount of tension that it can so there is no relaxation. We can then see that our pelvic floor that is in the shape of a bowl doesn’t represent balance, “we may be pouring out too much on one side”. We are seeking balance and we create this by creating connection. First by working externally, feeling the tone of the abdomen and reconnecting to our diaphragm for deep pelvic floor breathing.

As we inhale, the diaphragm and pelvic floor move down. As we exhale they return to their starting position. Depending on how conscious we are of our breathing, we take an inhale and due to the stresses of life that inhale doesn’t influence the depth of connection we can create to the pelvic floor. Our inhale is short and shallow, so we learn to reconnect to our breath and ensure connection is being made. That in itself being at times physical, mental, emotional, and chemically freeing for symptoms to dissipate.

We progress with internal work, checking the muscle engagement with fascia of the pelvic floor, the strength within the quadrants. This is one way of how we keep track of how the pelvic floor is shifting and adapting to the work. We continue to create balance within.

Each one of us is in need of different medicine. This work is tailored to your individual need, and this form of medicine returns vitality within. Traditional chiropractic care being included when necessary.
